12 Shipping Container Branding Ideas

12 Shipping Container Branding Ideas

A branded container has the potential to be a mobile billboard: At events, in urban areas, on construction sites, or festival grounds, it’s often the first thing people see. Bold branding captures attention from afar, especially in an otherwise big sea of tents, houses, scaffolding, and signage.

Some container branding projects go big; full makeovers, cladding, LED screens - turning a container into a showpiece. Others need only a simple banner, flag, or sign to make a container stand out. A few simple touches can draw attention and turn a container into a real eye-catcher.

Branding doesn’t need painting, drilling, or welding, which can damage the container and reduce its value. With Domino Clamps, you can attach banners, flags, signs, or full cladding and more securely - no drilling, no damage, and fully reusable.

Here are 12 creative ways our customers have branded their containers.

Branding Ideas: From Bold Makeovers to Quick Wins

In this article, we’ll share both the full-scale transformations and the quick, high-impact additions customers have made to brand their containers, all without drilling or damaging them.

From full advertisements at major events to a simple logo or flag placed in clear view, there are many ways to approach container branding. The real-life examples below show how our customers have turned plain boxes into branded shipping containers that stand out from a distance and in busy spaces.

Branding examples - Big makeovers

Sometimes, a container needs more than just a logo, it needs to be transformed into an experience. These projects show how brands went all-in, turning plain steel boxes into unique, eye-catching installations, pop-ups, and branded event spaces.

1. Positive Experience UK - Big branded makeover for a small container

Positive Experience UK turned Pip & Nut's small container into a real crowd magnet with oversized signage, a rooftop terrace, and even a climbing wall fixed on the side using Domino Clamps. For Barcode Festival the container got a makeover to launch their nutty oat bar snacks. The container was resprayed, fitted with a new hatch bar top, signage, and a rooftop deck. The climbing wall challenge quickly became a highlight, as visitors raced to the top to ring the acorn bell.

2. 80six - LED Screen and plant features

At the UK Gardening Show, 80six transformed a plain container into a lush green showcase. The exterior, and even the roof, were decorated with plants and greenery. A slimline LED screen displayed dynamic branding and visuals. Using Domino Clamps meant the screen could be mounted securely to the container structure without bulky framing or permanent fixes. The result was a clean, professional look that blended technology with natural design.

3. The Events Structure - Branding for a pop-up campaign

The Events Structure built a mobile container unit that toured three UK cities for a PEPSI Max campaign. The container was clad and fitted with a large LED screen to create a branded presence that could be set up and taken down quickly. Domino Clamps made it possible to attach the cladding securely without drilling into the steel, so the unit stayed watertight and could be reused for future events.

4. Adaptainer - Banner for an aviation event

At this aviation event - the Paris Air Show - Adaptainer used a full-side banner to completely transform the look of the container. With this banner, the retired cargo box became a backdrop that carried striking graphics and messaging. The banner blends in with the rest of the display and serves as valuable advertising space.

5. Allertons Event Branding - Branded structure for the finish line

For the annual Cheltenham horserace festival, Allertons were tasked with building a branded structure to mark the finish line. The site can be exposed to high winds, so they decided to use shipping containers as the base. The containers were hired in so they couldn't be damaged. Instead, they built a steel frame around them and used Domino Clamps to attach branding panels and flags. This structure allowed them to show off bold logos and messaging across all sides without risking damage or leaks. The choice of containers turned out to be extremely wise as during the build, the site was exposed to 45mph+ winds.

6. The Events Structure - Branded event space for Changan

The Events Structure created a two-level event space for the car manufacturer Changan. The build included a staircase leading to a rooftop viewing deck and four flags fixed to the corner castings using Domino Clamps. With matching colours and bold signage across the front, the whole setup worked as a strong branded hub that stood out on site, even at a distance.

Branding Examples - Quick Wins

Not every container needs a full makeover. Often, adding a banner across the side or a flag in clear view is enough to get noticed. The examples below show how these simple touches can enhance visibility and give you extra space to advertise your brand.

7. Darkfield – Branded theatre Cocntainer

Darkfield is a UK theatre company that stages immersive shows inside shipping containers, in complete darkness with 360° audio. For their multi-production installation at London’s Olympic Park, Darkfield added illuminated signs fixed to a Domino Clamps Utility Pole so that visitors could locate each of the four theatre shows even after sunset.

8. Iron & Pine - Big banner on a cosy container

At The Glamping Show, Iron & Pine made their compact container stand out with a bold banner stretched above it. Iron & Pine specialise in converting shipping containers into luxury glamping and modular units.

The oversized signage drew attention from across the showground. A good example of how even the smallest containers can carry big branding (when mounted securely with Domino Clamps). By the way, inside was a cosy, luxurious interior, showing how much comfort can be created in a small container.

9. Super Bowl - A banner turning a container into artwork

At a Super Bowl event, this container was smartened up with some American football graphics. The banner frame was fixed using our 8′ shipping container banner kit. The bold graphics tied straight into the theme of the event and turned a functional container but unsightly container into part of the show.
