Building a Mobile Shipping Container Pop-Up
Gallery Plus Shipping Container Conversion
To launch its newly branded drink Pepsi MAX teamed up with experiential marketing experts ID Agency and The Events Structure to create a unique street-level campaign. The centerpiece? A custom-built pop-up made from a converted shipping container.
Designed for maximum visibility in three of the UK’s busiest cities, the eye-catching unit served as both a sampling station and a visual showcase. The Events Structure created the container conversion, tailoring it for high-traffic, high-energy environments.
Since it needed to be moved between sites, it was important that the upper corner castings remained unaffected by the conversion. Helping make it all possible were Domino Clamps, which allowed for quick and secure installation of standout features like a massive LED video screen and custom cladding, without putting a single hole in the container.

The Challenge: Design a striking, weatherproof mobile unit that reflects Pepsi MAX’s rebrand
- Create an eye-catching, mobile event structure that aligns with Pepsi MAX's rebranding.
- Ensure the structure is durable, weatherproof, and easily transportable between locations.
- Implement a non-destructive method to attach external features like cladding and digital displays while maintaining the structural integrity of the shipping container.
- Achieve a smooth, aesthetically pleasing exterior surface over the container's corrugated steel.
The Solution: Domino Clamps were used to securely attach cladding and a LED screen
To achieve the desired outcome, the team utilised Domino Clamps to safely and securely attach external cladding to the container’s corrugated steel surface. This cladding not only provided a smooth finish ideal for mounting the screen, but also enhanced the overall aesthetic of the container. The use of Domino Clamps eliminated the need for welding or drilling into the container, preserving its structural integrity while offering a strong, flexible mounting solution.
The container's standout feature was a large LED screen mounted on the rear exterior wall to amplify branding and attract attention from afar.

To attach the screen to the shipping container an external subframe was created and attached using Domino Clamps and some large custom plywood adapters.

The branded container served as a mobile tasting booth, offering passers-by free samples of Pepsi MAX. Its eye-catching design was central to drawing attention in high-footfall areas like Westfield Stratford, Piccadilly Gardens, and the Bullring in Birmingham.
To ensure maximum visibility, the container was fully wrapped in Pepsi MAX branding and outfitted with a branded interior counter for seamless product distribution.
When we asked The Events Structure’s founder Justin lsles about his experience using Domino Clamps, he said Domino Clamps are an essential in shipping container conversions and almost always a feature in our projects
The Result: A visually striking branded shipping container conversion
The Pepsi MAX activation drew large crowds in all three cities, with the visually striking, fully branded shipping container serving as a memorable centrepiece. The use of Domino Clamps played a crucial role in enabling fast, secure, and non-invasive modifications to the unit, proving once again why they're the go-to solution for container-based installations.
